Welcome to the Pigpen!   You've found the online home to the "Learned Pigs and Fireproof Women." We're a St. Cloud, Minnesota-based trivia team playing for our 21st year in KVSC-FM's annual Trivia Weekend.   And to celebrate becoming legal, we're going to do our level best to tie the great Hall of Fame inductees, GDI, with a fifth KVSC tournament win -- knock on wood. 

 
            

Fun In 3D!   This Trivia Weekend theme is Trivia in 3D.  The tournament begins at 5 p.m., Friday, February 12th, 2010.  It ends at 7 p.m., Sunday, February 14th. The Learned Pigs and Fireproof Women will battle wits with some of the best trivia players in the state of Minnesota again this year.  Of course, we'll have a few tricks up our sleeve this time around.

Play With Us!  We'd love if you'd join us!  if you've ever wanted to play KVSC Trivia, here's your chance.  Just e-mail us and we'll get you all the details.   Not going to be in St. Cloud?  No problem!  You can play from anywhere on the planet as long as you have an internet connection.  We'll show you how!

How did we get our name?   It's from the Ricky Jay book on circus freaks and human oddities, "Learned Pigs and Fireproof Women."  Considering our first name was "Cactus Jack's Dit not Wops",we consider this to be a big improvement.  

We've done pretty well over the years.  This is our 21st year playing as a team -- our 20th as "LP&FW."  We started pretty slow, but with lots of hard work and preparation, we've become a better team.

We come from all over the country for trivia. We started as a group of SCSU students and friends who got together with a hundred or so books and a telephone.  But as we started getting older and moving on, the team spread out across the country.  We don't get everyone home for trivia every year, but with technology as it is these days, folks can still play from far away!
